Muralitharan To Risk Injury
Sri Lankan spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan, announced today that he will fight through his injury just to beat India in tomorrows Cricket World Cup final; thereby topping his cricketing career in the best way possible, before heading into retirement. Muralitharan, 38, is expected to play in the Mumbai final, however he is still carring hamstring, knee and groin injuries sustained earlier in the competition.
Rangers Going Bust
Rangers chairman, Alastair Johnson, announed today that his club, Rangers FC, are very close to becoming bust. This came up when they club announced half-yearly figures showing that the club owes £29m. Alastair Johnson stated that in June the clubs debts will drop to around £22m. However, he is worried that the club could go out of business if the decision over tax payments goes against them.
Real Madrid trio to miss Tottenham match
It was announced today that Real Madrid trio; Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Marcelo will miss next weeks Champions League Quarter-Final first leg tie against Tottenham. Ronaldo has a hamstring injury, Benzema with a thigh problem and Marcelo with a sore rib. They should, however, return for the second leg, and they won't be available for Real Madrid's match on April 9th against Athletic Bilbao.
